Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Business Operations, the Staff Accountant will perform a variety of technical and administrative accounting duties involving financial record keeping and/or transactions. This is a Junior to Mid-Level position, and the salary range is $75,000 to $100,000 year, depending on experience.
The Staff Accountant will:
Serve as point of contact for employees, independent contractors, and clients for expense vouchers and invoices
Assist with monthly payroll entry and accounting, to include reviewing and preparing employee timecard reports
Assist with monthly and ad hoc independent contractor payments
Help prepare, review, and submit monthly invoices to clients
Assist with Program Control functions across multiple contracts
Monthly account reconciliations and credit card management
Make sure all expenses are recorded against correct accounts in accordance government contract requirements and regulations
Process Electronic Funds Transfers (EFTs) through company banking/payment platforms
Analyze expenditure trends and provide financial reports in timely manner
Support financial audit activities
Other similar professional duties maybe assigned as needed:
Assist with general HR efforts, particularly as they relate to employee benefit costs and payroll
Help prepare needed accounting documentation for corporate tax filings, and working with the company tax CPA on annual tax preparation activities.
Support making travel arrangements and managing/tracking travel costs for company travel programs
Assist the Director of Business Operations in contract pricing activities and cost compliance issues
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting and a minimum of 2-3 years of previous accounting experience, preferable in the Federal Government contracting domain
Must be proficient in MS Excel, MS Office applications, Google Sheets
Experience with QuickBooks accounting platforms
Ability to work core business hours from the company headquarters in Northern Virginia the majority of time
Attention to detail

Receptive to training and open to learning
Desired Skills:
CPA license
Basic knowledge of Deltek Costpoint, Deltek Time and Expense, and Unanet platforms used by corporate clients/prime contractors in the Government contracting domain
